These disclaimers apply to volunteers, mentors, church/community partners, and program participants engaging with FCEM and/or FCA program activities.

1) Participation and Safety

All participation is voluntary. FCEM may establish safety rules, supervision expectations, and conduct standards. Failure to follow standards may result in removal from volunteer service or program activities.

2) Screening and Background Checks

Certain volunteer roles may require screening and/or background checks. FCEM reserves the right to approve, deny, or reassign volunteer roles at its sole discretion.

3) Not Employment

Volunteer service does not create an employment relationship. Volunteers are not employees and are not entitled to wages, benefits, or insurance coverage from FCEM.

4) Assumption of Risk

Participants and volunteers understand that activities may involve inherent risks (including injury). By participating, you assume all risks associated with the activity, except where prohibited by law.

5) Medical Emergencies

In the event of a medical emergency, FCEM may seek appropriate medical assistance. You are responsible for any medical costs incurred.

6) Transportation

If transportation is involved:

• FCEM is not responsible for transportation provided by third parties unless explicitly stated.
• Volunteers/participants who provide transportation may be required to submit proof of valid driver’s license and insurance.

7) Photo/Media Release

FCEM may take photos or videos during activities for mission-related communications (website, social media, promotional materials). If you prefer not to be photographed, please notify us in writing before the event or activity.

8) Confidentiality and Student Protection

Volunteers may learn personal or educational information about students or families. You agree to keep all such information confidential and to follow all FCEM child-safety expectations. Any suspected abuse or safety concern should be reported immediately to FCEM leadership and appropriate authorities as required by law.

9) Program Outcomes

FCEM makes no guarantee of specific outcomes from participation in educational programs, interventions, mentoring, or enrichment activities.
